We're totally convinced this place will never open. Way back in the
depths of June,
rumors swirled that the ultra chic W would open its glossy doors in September, and now are stated to
open in late October. What could possibly be taking so long, they’ve certainly been
hyping up this monstrosity for quite awhile. MBTA Board Member
Frank Chin gloats, “It’s a very nice hotel. I hope the
hotel will improve the Theater District and help to block some of the
noise pollution caused by the surrounding night life that impacts the elderly housing next to the
Roxy Night Club.” Personally, anything of stature could hopefully change the seedy
China town area in Boston. That’s a bit obvious. Rather, we’d like to see increased traffic, and a nuanced nightlife scene emerge rather than a feeble noise screen for the “elderly housing”.
Frank, for Christmas, we’ll make sure to send them over a pair of Breakfast at Tiffanys earplugs…on us. Cheers!
