Betsey Johnson Hosts Fashion Show at Estate

Wednesday night, Betsey Johnson models glided across the shiny jet black runway dressed in Betsey's newest fall collection filled with clubby sequined skirts, body-hugging cocktail dresses, teacup ruffle dresses, and oversized stuffy winter coats. Impressed? Not really. This is only the bizillioth time that Betsey comes to Estate, and we're totally over this show, to say the least.

But what is really going on with Estate? Fridays are slowing down and Saturdays aren't even worth mentioning. We used to go to Estate every Friday, but it's obviously slowed down this fall compared to it's peak last summer. We'd even say last spring Estate had finally overtaken Venu in the ongoing battle for "The Friday Night". Estate had come so close, but just lost it during these first couple of weeks. Switching from Suite to Foundation after their awful opening of Suite Thursdays also didn't add much to their credibility. Who goes to Foundation?! Like no one.

“Rumors Have It…” Boylston Alleyway Set To Close?!

This notorious alleyway which includes Estate, Suite, and Liquor Store is (according to various sources) being bulldozed by Emerson College, and transformed into a variety of chic dormitory apartments. Emerson is blatantly trying to foreclose 72.5% of Boston nightlife. Let’s not be too obvious now. Looks like the half your students have complained about getting into Estate or Suite with their totally lame, ridiculously fake, wanna-be international IDs. Now they’ll probably infiltrate Gypsy, or maybe even an occasional dead night at Mantra. Lovely.

The Chandelier That Makes Every Party..."The Party"

This exotic arrangement of myriads and myriads of colorful vodka bottles (that's a lot of martinis...like, a lot) surely brings excitement to any wanna-be-Boston party...We're actually surprised Rumor, Venu, Estate, or any other club monstrosity doesn't have one. Tacky isn't even the word...we like to call this piece...creative?! But the truly important questions are: how long it took to put this glass menagerie together--and did they really drink that much vodka?! Either way, maybe this will be our next project, but after the Three Olives (disastrous) Bubble Vodka Party, we're done with vodka for awhile...at least until Friday.

Best of the Best, Worst of the Worst of the Week

Estate: Worst Bouncers…ever. Again. No wonder it was empty last Friday.
Yes they’re hot, but win the asshole award for sure.
Venu: Best Night. HedKandi KILLED Venue, crowd was hyped, music was amazing, and everyone was wasted. Great night.
Rumor: Super solid night. There’s just no competition for Rumor Thursdays.
Foundation: Oldest Crowd. If you actually are 21, go to Foundation.
Gypsy: Best Back Up Plan Club. If you don't get into Rumor, Estate, or Venu...chances are you'll end up here.
Foundation: Best actual 21+ club. Enough said...

Just Announced, David Berrie Coming Back To Boston

{Photograph via KRILL}

Having spun at Mantra last spring, and making his way through the New York circuit with gigs at 1Oak, Ten June, and Pink Elephant, it looks like David Berrie's coming back to his Boston roots with spinning at Estate in October.
